Description: Students must make a hand-sewn bust of a real person (living or dead). They must use color, pattern and volume to articulate something specific about their subject.

Description: Students must use 1-part molds to cast 350 modeled clay objects. These objects must be arranged to create a composition that is thematically related to the objects they cast.

Description: Students must take a small object and scale it up 10-20 times using cardboard, paper, plaster gauze and joint compound.

Project: Wood container
Description: Students must make a wood container using laminated plywood. The form of the container must be thematically related to the objects it contains.

Project: Cardboard Mask
Description: Students must use planar construction with cardboard to create a mask that represents an alter-ego or persona.




Class: 3D Fundamentals
Project: Plaster stack
Description: Students must create a stack of cast objects using simple molds made from cardboard or balloons. Objects must have negative spaces cast or carved into them.



Class: 3D Fundamentals
Project: Ceramic Container
Description: Students must hand build a ceramic container with a functional lid. They must create at least 3 different textures and use color to create emphasis.
